Bottle size: 750 mL
The Hunter Valley produces a soft Rhone Valley style, medium to full bodied Shiraz with ripe fruit flavours and alcohol between 13 and 14%. Mulberry spice and natural acid gives length and flavour. We bottle our Shiraz the following January after picking in order to preserve primary fruit flavour.
The 2014 vintage is regarded as one of the best vintages over the past century in the Hunter Valley. First Creek has just released the 2014 Shiraz and is the best Shiraz we have made here at First Creek!

Growing conditions: The 2014 vintage has been widely acclaimed as one of the five greatest vintages of all time in the Hunter Valley. Ideal growing conditions allowed growers to harvest all fruit at optimum ripeness. The resulting wines are long, flavoursome and elegant, showing great promise for the future.
Winemaking notes: The 2014 vintage produced some of the best shiraz that we have ever bottled under the First Creek label. Small parcels of fruit were crushed and fermented in 2 - 4 tonne batches at 20 degrees Celsius for seven days. After pressing, the wine was aged in French and American oak hogsheads and puncheons for ten months.
